This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Office of Enterprise Data and Analytics (OEDA), Data Analytics and Strategy Group (DASG). As a Supv IT Specialist (Data Management) Deputy Director, GS-2210-14, you will manage the budgeting and contract activities for DASG products, assess staff training needs, assess performance, mentor staff, and work with the DASG Director on longer term strategic planning.

Duties

Implement CMS’ vision of driving innovation by leading the team in the design, delivery, and operations of interoperable data sharing services and the implementation of IT systems to support it. Use technical expertise to lead discussions on crafting a vision and developing a strategy for delivery of IT products and services. Engage with the standards community to promote effective implementation for healthcare data exchange, and coordinates with Agency partners consuming CMS data to develop insights into future data needs and to inform ongoing improvements. Lead the Product Community of Practice focusing on sharing product management best practices, guidelines, and strategies, and creating new knowledge, breakthrough ideas, and new practices to advance the collective learning of product skills at CMS. AND In order to qualify for the GS-14, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: Defining an Information Technology (IT) product mission and vision, aligning stakeholders, prioritizing features, and delivering value to users; AND Leading a cross-functional team on the coordination and implementation of application programming interfaces using Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resource based standards for healthcare data interoperability. The incumbent will be expected to obtain COR III certification within 24 months of effective date. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
