Duties
Conducts random reviews of disbursements for Travel Post Pay in support of the Payment Integrity Information Act (PIIA).
Reviews financial management systems, public laws, governing policies, guidelines, rules, and regulations including JTR and DoDFMR.
Accesses traveler’s payment history to review travel payments that may overlap or duplicate the claim being audited.
Verifies all voucher data for accuracy to include payments for lodging, mileage, rental car, etc.
Provides technical advice and assistance to supervisory personnel regarding travel post pay reviews.
Submit and review various automated systems changes and modifications that impact the computation of travel pay for military TDY and PCS travel vouchers.
The duties, described above, represent the major duties performed at the GS-7 level.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement, qualified applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade (GS-06) in the Federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
Specialized experience is defined as experience gathering records and substantiating documents such as pay vouchers, travel vouchers, etc; reviewing data on various documents and determining the accuracy of financial transactions; gathering and compiling data on operations for management feedback and/or customer briefings.
Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-06 or higher grade in Federal Service.
You may qualify for consideration if meeting time-in grade, specialized experience, education requirement, 90 days after competitive appointment requirement, and all other qualification requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of the announcement, unless otherwise indicated on the announcement.

Substitution of Education for Experience: One full year of graduate level education may be substituted to meet the specialized experience required when it is directly related to the work of the position being filled. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements.
