The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the 88th Logistic Readiness Squadron (LRS) Logistic Management Specialist to lead, enable, and strengthen the squadron's mission of effectiveness and efficiency. Work involves identifying the specific requirements for money, manpower, material, facilities and services to support the 88th LRS and etc.
Duties
Represents the squadron at senior leadership levels across the installation and with contractor and industry representatives. This position serves as the technical and subject matter expert in all functional elements of the 88 LRS mission. The functional elements include material management, fuels management, traffic management operations (cargo movement passenger travel), air transportation, ground transportation, plans and integration, fleet management, financial management, etc.
Establishes and executes a planned systemic systematic approach of numerous compliance items for all functional areas of 88 LRS that are designated to provide various levels of leadership evidence that processes systems conform to technical, safety, workload and customer requirements or corrective measures or plans are in place to overcome any deficiencies.
Serves as the sqadron focal point for receipt and interpretation of Logistic Readiness governing directives. Interperets, prepares, presents, and defends, monthly logistics staff analyses and studies to squadron leadership, installation officials and MAJCOM staff.

- At least five years of experience in multiple base-level logistics functional areas is desirable.
Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management Positions.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have, or will have within 120 days of closing of this announcement, at least 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, NH-2 (or GS-11 equivalent) or higher grade level (may have been obtained in the federal service, military, or public sector). My experience includes using the knowledge of concepts, principles, procedures, regulations, laws, and instructions applicable to the Logistics; providing technical assistance to the supervisor regarding duties; and preparing programs, policies, and activities regarding logistics.
NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of Air Force supply, transportation, fuels and maintenance concepts, practices, and procedures. Also, knowledge of AF logistics plans and readiness (deployment, agreements, base support planning, and war reserve material management) concepts, practices and procedures and associated logistics quality assurance processes.
Knowledge of laws, principles, policies, and practices of comprehensive performance-based logistics services acquisitions, and AF contract administration regulations, practices and procedures.
Knowledge of extensive logistics industry business practices, industrial management, services contracting procedures, technical concepts, performance standards and application, Department of Defense and AF methods and evaluation of contractor proposals and work performance.
Knowledge of the mission, roles, functions, organizational structures, and operation of the DoD, AF, and other entities that govern, interface with, and/ or influence the logistics services acquisition process.
Ability to communicate both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy.
Ability to establish and maintain good relationships with individuals and groups within the office as well as outside the immediate work area, to include contracted personnell.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
