This position is located in DEPARTMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY, U.S. COAST GUARD, DEP COMDT FOR MISSION SUPPORT, ASST COMDT FOR ENGINEERING AND LOGISTICS (CG-4), OFFICE OF CIVIL ENGINEERING (CG-43), PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT BR (SILC) in Baltimore, MD
Duties
This position provides comprehensive support for the Aids to Navigation (ATON) and Marine Environmental Response (MER) missions, both ashore and afloat. The portfolio of assets includes nearly 50,000 fixed and floating Federal aids to navigation (ATON) platforms, an extensive array of signal equipment and power systems, and the CG-wide inventory of MER pollution response equipment

Qualifications
Education
Undergraduate Education: Major study -- any field of study in an accredited college or university.
Graduate Education: Major study -- fields related to the position to be filled.
GS-11: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 in the Federal sector. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
Specialized Experience (for positions above GS-5): Examples of qualifying specialized experience include:
Working as a skilled mechanic or maintenance worker, sales or service engineer, or planner or estimator in a technical group dealing with manufacture, utilization, repair, or operation of equipment.
Reviewing and applying technical specifications and requirements.
Analyzing equipment and forecasting spare parts requirements.
Reading and interpreting engineering change orders, equipment requisitions, shop orders, and work orders.
Analyzing contract specifications and examining pertinent equipment to determine if specifications are met.
Analyzing or supervising maintenance, repair, or production operations to determine methods of improvement.
OR
Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree
OR
3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree
OR
LL.M., if related
