Duties
The incumbent functions as an Equipment Specialist and Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COR) performing work involved in collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and developing specialized information about complex equipment; and providing advisory services to those who design, test, produce, procure, supply, operate, repair, or dispose of equipment and/or maintenance programs and techniques based on a practical knowledge of the equipment including its design, production, operational, and maintenance requirements.

Qualifications
Applicants for the GS-12 level must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: Serving as Contracting Officer's Technical Representative (COTR) and developing specialized technical information for propulsion machinery equipment and systems; Providing plans/arrangements for procurement by developing and/or analyzing contract specifications, making final determinations regarding the acceptance/rejection of contractor proposals, and examining propulsion machinery equipment or service provided to determine if specifications and schedules are met; Providing technical advice and assistance to groups in regards to significantly modifying total equipment systems, groups of commodity classes, or subsystems.National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
