About the Position: The position is located in Fort Belvoir, VA. Fort Belvoir is approximately 15 miles southwest of Washington, D.C., five miles from Alexandria, VA and next door to the community of Mount Vernon, VA.

Duties

Serves as an Anti-Terrorism Force Protection Officer. Develops a Force Protection program to protect Department of Defense (DOD) personnel, facilities, automated information, and assets from an entire spectrum of threats including terrorism by assessing Antiterrorism/Force Protection needs. Assists with the implementation of the crisis management program planning and execution in the event of terrorist attack or other emergency situations. Develops the installation Antiterrorism/Force Protection (AT/FP) related plans, assessments, exercises, and coordinates these fully within the installation, its tenant organizations and supporting agencies.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires a Top Secret Security clearance.
• This position is designated a Key position, in the event of a national crisis or war, incumbent must be able to work shift work or varying shifts beyond the eight-hour day.
• This position is covered by the civilian drug abuse testing program.
• This is an obligated position.
