This position is located in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). PTAB is comprised of statutory members and Administrative Patent Judges who conduct trials, including inter partes, post-grant, and covered business method patent reviews and derivation proceedings; hear appeals from adverse examiner decisions in patent applications and reexamination proceedings; and render decisions in interferences.

The physical worksite for this position is located in Alexandria, Virginia.This position is telework eligible per agency and business unit discretion/policy.

You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. Applicants must have (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-11 grade level or equivalent.
Specialized experience for this position includes:
Experience in analyzing and evaluating issues that are typically diverse and complex in nature and using existing methods and procedures to future requirements in order to develop timely and executable plans of action.
Experience in coordinating and planning events on behalf of high-ranking organizational officials, such as Town Halls, Brown Bag meetings, as well as domestic and international travel arrangements.
Experience in managing the operational schedule of high-ranking officials through the development and maintenance of current and long-range calendars and controlling their appointments.
Experience in drafting presentations, talking points, briefings, handbooks, correspondence, etc. using the Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience in screening, reviewing, and composing internal and external correspondence to and from high-ranking officials.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
