About the Position: Navy Medicine Readiness and Training Command Bremerton is comprised predominantly of military members that support NHB.

This Position is being filled at the GS-05, GS 06 or GS-07 level. Management may select at either grade with the full performance being at the GS-07 level.
Duties
The incumbent will perform a wide variety of duties of a technical nature Including performance of various medical screening tests, patient assessment and triage, and health education.
Perform various screenings, such as vision, vital signs, spirometry, audiometry, and electrocardiograms (EKGs).
Review medical and/or occupational history.
Verify information's and order all indicated laboratory studies, x-rays, immunizations, and other ancillary tests as appropriate.
Maintain medical records in accordance with applicable directives.
Utilize Automated systems to schedule patient appointment and/ routine physical exams.
Requirements
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position is covered by the civilian drug abuse testing program. Incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R, Condition of Employment for certain civilian positions identified as critical under the Drug Abuse Testing Program.
- Required to receive and maintain appropriate vaccination against seasonal influenza. The incumbent must, as a condition of employment, be immunized on an annual basis against influenza.
- Required to have successfully completed a National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) approved course in Spirometry and received a certificate of completion within 6 months.
- Required to have successfully completed audiometry by a Council of Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAOHC) and received a certificate of completion within 6 months.
- Incumbent may be required to wear Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Required possess or able to obtain and maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification prior to onboarding.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or specialized experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Duties described above reflect the full performance GS-07 level. Duties will be performed in a developmental capacity under close supervision.
GS-05, Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includesperforming Technical support duties working under close supervision working with Health care personnel; providing costumer service; maintaining files and using an automated system to schedule/reschedule appointments.

Education: Four-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major study or at least 24 semester hours in subjects directly related to the position, such as, such as Health Technician, Health care Technician in audiology, speech pathology, and other related Health Technician sciences' etc..(NOTE: You must attach a copy of your transcript).
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
GS-06, Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includesworking with Health care personnel with limited supervision assisting with various screenings, such as vision, vital signs, spirometry, audiometry, and electrocardiograms (EKGs); scheduling patient check-in appointments; utilizing an automated medical information system.
Note: No substitution of education for experience is permitted for GS-6.
GS-07, Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes counseling patients on test results; conducting occupational health tests in any of the following (audiograms, spirometry, vision screening, electrocardiograms); taking vital signs; operating an automated system to input and retrieve medical information.
OR
Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Health Technician, Health care Technician in audiology, speech pathology, and other related Health Technician sciences' etc.. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Certification Requirements for each grade level prior to onbaording.
GS-05: Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).
GS-06: Basic Life Support Certification (BLS), The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) approved Spirometry Technician or equivalent, Navy and Marine Corps Public Health Center Audiology Technician or equivalent.
GS-07: Basic Life Support Certification (BLS). The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) approved Spirometry Technician or equivalent, Navy and Marine Corps Public Health Center Audiology Technician or equivalent.
Education
