National Defense University (NDU) supports the joint warfighter by providing rigorous Joint Professional Military Education to members of the U.S. Armed Forces and select others in order to develop leaders who have the ability to operate and creatively think in an unpredictable and complex world.
Duties
Incumbent assesses the communications, logistical, and support requirements for all College activities and ensures full support of those activities.
Coordinates CONUS/OCONUS (foreign and domestic) travel as required to support facility, staff, students and guest speakers.
Engages and negotiates with appropriate support staff elements from the host installation and NDU (higher headquarters) to coordinate required support for all College operations and events.
Performs research tasks and conducts or participates in cost comparison studies of current or projected operations or events. Performs a variety of manpower management review and analysis tasks.
Consults with appropriate University staff manpower on varied issues, procedures and requirements associated with manpower authorizations and personnel actions.

- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
Qualifications
You must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service.
Specialized Experience is defined as: experience supporting the development and execution of academic curriculum and programs such as seminars, workshops, courses and research programs.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements.

You must provide a copy of the letter containing the results of the equivalency evaluation upon request. Failure to provide such documentation when requested will result in lost consideration.
