You will serve as a TELECOMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST in the TRANSPORT SERVICES DIVISION (N33TS), OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT (N3) of NCTAMSLANT NORVA.
This position is a DoD Cyber Excepted Service (CES) personnel system position in the Excepted Service under 10 U.S.C. 1599f.
Duties
You will work with Current and Future Operations Division, fleet units, Carrier and Expeditionary Strike Group Staffs to plan and manage transport services for Fleet Unites deriving transport connections with NCTAMS LANT.
You will review all new transport Service, Change or Deactivation Requests.
You will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all variants of the Automated Digital Network System.
You will develop troubleshooting strategies and processes for Tier II level issues.
You will determine and recommends priorities for corrective actions planned to be undertaken.
You will employ sound troubleshooting and testing techniques designed to achieve services requested as quickly as possible.
You will train military and civilian personnel in Transport Service Division to include operation troubleshooting practices for equipment and systems installed in the Radio Room and Cryptographic Center.
You will act as a member of Watch Station qualification boards as a part of the training process.
You will develop and implement service plans which identify equipment configurations and connections along the signal path through the building.

- This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 411, proficiency level Intermediate, the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You must successfully complete a Counterintelligence (CI) polygraph with No Deception Indicated (NDI).
- The work could involve moderate travel by commercial or military carrier.
- MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
Qualifications
Applicant must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly related to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience would be demonstrated by:
-Experience applying performance management/measurement methods to conduct analysis and recommend resolution of complex telecommunication issues.
-Experience utilizing security procedures, principles, and methods to protect receipt and transmission of data voice and video.
-Experience using analog and digital test equipment to test performance and isolate the causes for circuit outages.
-Experience providing advice or guidance on transport services.
