Duties
You will monitor and evaluate the overall network compliance with Information Assurance Vulnerability Alert (IAVA) security requirements.
You will review Information Systems Security guidance, plans, policies, and procedures.
You will monitor changes to the installations network architecture and information technology resources for continuous evaluation of Information Systems Security vulnerabilities.
You will report all levels of Information Systems Security vulnerabilities in the manner appropriate to the risk involved.
You will prepare documentation of information vulnerabilities and implement security policies, procedures and software, and hardware items to sustain system accreditation.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- Must obtain and maintain DoD Directive 8570 Information Assurance Manager (IAM) Level II certification until superseded by DoD Directive 8140 requirements.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area INFORMATION SYSTEMS SECURITY MANAGER, level ADVANCED within 12 months of appointment.
Qualifications
Applicants must have directly applicable experience that demonstrates the possession of knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies or knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience is typically in or directly relates to the work of the position to be filled. Qualifying experience at the next lower grade would be demonstrated by:
1. Protect and defend information and information systems in order to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability. (AKA Information Assurance).
2. Develop and implement Information Technology strategy, policy, guidance, and plans. Monitor to ensure consistency and compliance.
3. Identifies and analyzes problems; seeks and evaluates alternative solutions; makes timely/effective recommendations, based on potential implications of findings or conclusions.
This position is within the Work Category-Professional at Work Level-Full Performance, Series 2210 and Grade GG-09.

Education
At a minimum, all CES employees in the Professional Work Category require a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Some groups in this category, however, may have a positive education requirement that cannot be replaced with experience, such as a requirement for a particular type or level of an academic degree.
