About the Position: Serve as a multi-functional logistics staff officer, who plans and organizes operations, coordinates with staff and management personnel, and conducts all phases of projects. Responsible for developing, coordinating, and integrating operations, training, and security actions across the AK area of responsibility.
Duties
Manages the training and readiness programs by developing, assessing, and analyzing the Brigade’s Mission Essential Task Lists (METL) to determine compliance with the command's readiness status.
Provides oversight of the Security Office in the performance of functional and technical responsibilities.
Tracks personnel physicals, mandatory deployment training, deployable/non-deployable status, and reviews pre-deployment packages prior to certification by the Commander.
Manages Operations; Prepares correspondence, operational plans (OPLANs), operations orders (OPORDs), and fragmentary orders (FRAGORDs) to support critical mission operations.
Serves as the supervisor to civilian personnel; Ensures timely performance of satisfactory work; accepts, amends, or directs re-work. Promotes Equal Employment Opportunity, Affirmative Action, and other special programs.
Interprets procedures and policies in problem situations where operating staff or other organizations seek guidance and solutions to difficult problems.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Temporary Duty (TDY) travel may be required up to 10% of the time.
- Designated Mission Essential Position; Incumbent is required to report for duty during inclement weather, Natural Disasters, and other emergency situations as directed by the Commander.
- Incumbent may be required to obtain and maintain a T3 security clearance.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
