You will serve as a SUPERVISORY SAFETY & OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the SAFETY DEPARTMENT of JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR.
A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 8.90% will be added to the stated salary.
Duties
You will administer a safety and occupational health program in accordance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requirements.
You will interpret policy to guide and aid commands in the improvement of their overall safety performance
You will identify developmental and training needs of employees to maintain staff knowledge of procedures and regulations.
You will use Safety and Occupational Health principles, practice and procedures to develop and recommend the implementation and management of safety and health programs.
You will deliver safety education training programs to address the needs identified through established requirements, inspections, and evaluations.
You will assign work based on skill level, strengths, weaknesses, and priorities to improve workflow efficiency.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applies safety and occupational health concepts, principles/practices, laws, regulations, standards, techniques and procedures applicable to the performance of complex administrative responsibilities which require planning, organizing, directing, operating and evaluating assigned safety and occupational health programs; 2) Develops local standards, guidelines, standard operating procedures and instructions to eliminate or control safety hazards relative to assigned program area of consideration; 3) Provides inspection, training, workplace monitoring and mishap prevention to include occupational safety and health, traffic, radiation control and off duty/recreational safety; 4) Consults and maintains liaison with other safety and health personnel to resolve occupational health hazards or to become familiar with the latest safety techniques and protective devices; and 5) Supervises and direct work of subordinates by setting priorities, developing employee performance standards, directs disciplinary measures and other administrative employee matters.
