About the Position: Serves a public affairs specialist for the Office of Public Affairs, Headquarters (HQs) U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
This position will be filled on a permanent basis.
Duties
Responsible for the planning, development, implementing, overseeing, and managing of HQUSACE public affairs activities.
Contribute to the content, design and management of USACE’s public websites, intranet, and other digital platforms.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with groups within and outside of the Organization to advance communications programs and identify new/emerging engagement opportunities and innovative techniques.
Develop themes, key messages, and talking points that help target audiences understand district activities.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires a valid driver's license.
- This position requires temporary duty (TDY) business travel approximately 25% of the time.
- This position has a requirement to lift up to 40 lbs.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes Establishing and maintaining an effective working relation with local and national media representative and community groups; Provides advice and counsel on strategic communication matters to leaders and other staff: and produces print and multimedia products tailored to specific needs of targeted Audiences. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
