About the Position: Serves as the Administrative Specialist for the Tooele Army Depot (TEAD) Command Group (CG) performing a range of duties in the administrative, protocol, secretarial, and personal assistant functions. Upon meeting regulatory requirements, may be promoted non-competitively to full performance GS-09 position.

Duties

Provide administrative guidance to CG employees on personnel and related programs such as recruitment, position management, employee development, incentive awards, etc. Provide routine advice to the CG regarding the classification and evaluation of General Schedule (GS) and Federal Wage System (FWS) civilian positions, assuring that positions are accurate and consistent with established job grading standards (JGS). Participate and provides significant input to the planning of administrative studies necessitated by program and organizational changes. Explain necessity for changes to administrative personnel, clarifies new procedures, and provides guidance in the application of new administrative guidelines. Actively participate in staff and/or management level meetings/discussions pertaining to the activities encompassed in the administrative and management functions of CG. Assist all command staff to include Depot Commander and DTC, Public Affairs and others members of CG requesting assistance in planning, scheduling, organizing, coordinating, and directing the administrative functions assigned. Perform a variety of administrative coordination and staffing of actions and reports, researching, reviewing, and disseminating new or revised policies, circulars, directives, regulations, forms and related materials. Plan, develop and/or coordinate the development of detailed itineraries based on time and place of arrival, size and significance of the group, background and interests and length of stay. Plan, schedule, and direct arrangements for activities hosted by the Commanding Officer and other matters of protocol involving congressional, military and civilian visitors from within CONUS and foreign countries. Formulate, recommend, establish and implement protocol and distinguished visitor policies and procedures for the installation using a high level of protocol knowledge.

OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position. OR Superior Academic Achievement: Successful completion of all the requirements for a bachelor's degree with Superior Academic Achievement. In order to be creditable under this provision, Superior Academic Achievement must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled, such as that identified in Education above.
