You will serve as an INFORMATION SYSTEMS SECRUITY MANAGER (ISSM) of INFOWARTRACMD VIRGINIA BEACH VA.

Duties

You will maintain system accreditation for all computer networks. You will manage the risk, security and contingency planning programs for the command. You will recommend, assign, implement and validate Information Assurance controls in accordance with DoD 8500.2. You will review and evaluate all Technical Training Equipment (TTE) systems installations with Program Management Office (PMO) to ensure system accreditation documentation is current.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 722 (Information Systems Security Manager) within 12 months of appointment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying performance management/measurement methods, tool and techniques to conduct analyses and recommend resolution of Information Technology IT security issues; 2) Researching, interpreting, modifying and applying guidelines for adaptation to specific IT problems; 3) Utilizing policies and directives (DOD 8570.01, DOD 8140, etc.) in assessing and/or managing a cybersecurity workforce and ensuring an organization's compliance; 4) Implementing security standards for systems and equipment. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.
