You will serve as a INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST in the NAVY MUNITIONS COMMAND (NMC) of NMCLANT UNIT NORFOLK.

Duties

You will oversee, review and monitor the status of incoming requisitions, and take appropriate action to ensure timely completion. You will coordinate with segregation or production to fulfill necessary requirements. You will ensure proper documentation is released to the proper division in a timely manner, meeting required delivery date windows. You will respond to correspondence and maintain communication with ships and activities of all types. You will provide detailed technical advice and assistance to areas of specialized ordnance management to support the Fleet, Naval Ordnance Center Divisions, ACT’s and other customers. You will perform analytical research for special projects and reports, such as resolving reporting and in transit discrepancies. You will use technical publications and system reports to review assets of age-sensitive material and take action to correctly classify material on automated records. You will respond to due-in, load schedule/plan, vessel allowances, Foreign Military Sales (FMS), renovation rework and assembly/disassembly. You will research and coordinate corrections to appropriate financial data, as needed. You will provide detailed technical advice and assistance to areas of specialized ordnance management to support the Fleet, Naval Ordnance Center Divisions, ACT’s and other customers. You will manage conventional and non-conventional ammunition and associate components and hardware to maintain accountability of assets. You will maintain documentation file in accordance with required regulations.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.

Qualifications

To qualify for a GS-09, your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience reviewing and monitoring incoming requisitions and takes appropriate action to ensure completion. Experience utilizing automated systems to verify availability and issue ability of ordnance materials. Experience overseeing the status of requisitions. Experience responding to due in, load plan, vessel allowances, and assembly/disassembly. Experience researching and coordinating corrections as needed to ensure appropriate financial data is applied. Experience providing detailed technical advice and assistance in areas of specialized ordnance management to support the Fleet, Ordnance Divisions, ACT's, and other customers. Experience utilizing technical publications and system reports and reviewing assets of age-sensitive material. Experience classifying material on automated records and scheduling the necessary physical changes with the appropriate ACT. Experience managing conventional and non-conventional ammunition and associated components and hardware to maintain accountability of assets. Experience developing and maintaining visual magazine and warehouse grids reflecting space occupies, hazard class, compatibility groups, and Net Explosive Weight (NEW). Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree
OR
