About the Position: This position is located at Ft. Novosel, Alabama, home of the United States Army Aviation Center of Excellence. Fort Novosel is located in the "Wiregrass" area in Southeast Alabama, surrounded by Enterprise, Ozark and Daleville.

Duties

Conduct classroom instruction on all aspects of the LUH-72 Helicopter, to include training maneuvers, aircraft systems, and other subjects as assigned. Monitor standardization requirements; recommends changes in lesson plans, program of instructions, training methods and techniques. Instruct and evaluate rated and non-rated aviators in pilot and instructor pilot proficiency in the LUH-72 Helicopter. Operate the multi-engine, tandem seated LUH-72 Helicopter while instructing or evaluating the copilot/gunner's station.

Requirements

• This position requires you possess the appropriate Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Pilot Certificates, FAA Flight Instructor Certificate and/or appropriate military rating.
• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
• This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter.
• This position has been designated "Mission Essential".
• This position requires shift work to provide coverage on evenings, weekends, holidays, or special situations.
• This position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain an annual Army Class II Flight Physical.

AND 3) Operating the LUH-72 Helicopter while instructing and evaluating the student. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). Certifications: This position requires you possess the appropriate Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Pilot Certificates, FAA Flight Instructor Certificate and/or appropriate military rating.
