About the Position: Oversees and monitors all administrative activities in the Branch. Advises Chief on administrative matters and acts as a troubleshooter in solving controversial non-technical problems.

Duties

Prepares all correspondence in final form. Serves as primary timekeeper for the Branch. Performs travel related duties to include preparing travel orders for employees. Fields internal Branch business-related telephone calls. Maintains branch chief's calendar to include scheduling appointment and conferences. Performs training related duties. Uses automated personnel system to build and create Request for Personnel Actions (RPAs) and incentive awards. Conducts inventory of branch property.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A qualified typist is required (at least 40 wpm).

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
