This position is located with Bonneville Power Administration, in Transmission Services, Transmission Engineering & Technical Services, Substation Engineering, Engineering Support. A successful candidate in the Engineering Technician (Electrical) position will serve as an Engineering Technician performing engineering design and implementation, engineering standards and specifications, and commodity engineering activities to support BPA's electrical transmission systems and facilities.

Qualifications

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: GS-11: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-10 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: experience in developing drawings using computer design software such as computer-aided design (CAD) to 1) support customer service engineering projects and 2) develop and maintain internal technical documentation. GS-12: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-11 in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as: experience in developing drawings using computer design software to include computer-aided design (CAD) to 1) support critical customer service engineering projects, 2) develop and maintain internal technical documentation, and 3) provide guidance to engineers and other technicians and contractors. "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
