Duties
The Science, Technology Assessment, and Analytics (STAA), Innovation Lab is looking for an experienced professional to serve as a Cloud Operation Support Specialist to support Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud services, contract management, and administrative needs across projects and stakeholders. The incumbent will:
Provide routine technical support directly to users of Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud computing services, including Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), and other evolving as-a-service capabilities.
Monitor and configure AWS Service Catalog across the multi-account and multi-tenant environment.
Manage access requests, user accounts, and configuration of identity management across cloud services, cloud infrastructures, and Innovation Lab tools.
Coordinate reporting and documentation of cybersecurity events and incidents with the incidence response team and across matrixed stakeholders.
Monitor cloud resource usage across services through the AWS billing and cost management console, and provide reports to key stakeholders. This duty includes identifying cost optimization opportunity based on cloud service utilization and very billing accuracy.
Track progress in meeting operational objectives across Agile-based program increments, release trains, and sprints.
Coordinate on-boarding and off-boarding of support personnel and monitor government furnished material.
Complete accurate and contemporaneous record keeping for the Innovation Lab, including project documentations, policies, and procedures using collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence.
Serves as a Contracting Officer Representative (COR) overseeing contracts and monitors contractor activities to ensure compliance with contract provisions. Execute contract administration activities such as evaluating contractor compliance; leading in-scope and performance discussions; and planning for renewal/option exercise actions.
Participate in retrospectives and sprint planning discussions to help coordinate external stakeholder inputs and address impediments.
Coordinate operational activities of the Innovation Lab such as event planning, outreach to mission and operation teams, schedule alignments, training management, and compliance assessments.
Qualifications
You must have one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower band or level equivalent to the GS-11 in the federal service, or comparable private or public sector experience which has equipped you with the skills and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience is defined as experience:
serving as a system administrator for an Amazon Web Services (AWS) product;
evaluating processes and operations to propose process improvements; and
participating on cross-functional or matrix project teams to implement a cloud-based computing system.
Additionally, you must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:
