This position is located at Departmental Offices in the Enterprise Cyber Risk Management Program under the Assistant Secretary for Management and Chief Financial Officer (ASM/CFO). As a Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), you will provide leadership and expert technical advice on developing, implementing and assessing Cybersecurity policies, processes and programs to ensure the security and reliability of Treasury information systems.
Duties
As a Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), you will:
Provide knowledge and expertise to the Enterprise Cyber Risk Management Team to assist in establishing Cyber Risk Enterprise appetite, thresholds, risk registers and conducting analysis of cyber risks using a quantified approach.
Review and interpret new legislation or policy changes from publications such as Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
Advise other IT experts on a variety of situations and issues involving applying or adapting new theories, concepts, methods, or practices related to cybersecurity risk to Department-wide IT Programs.
Lead and/or participate in special Cyber Risks Management studies to integrate new concepts, policies, or procedures with IT systems and serve as a senior expert and consultant to top agency management official on integrating IT programs with other programs.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience for the GS-14: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service, public or other private sectors. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
- Experience developing, defining, managing, and documenting IT projects specific to cybersecurity; AND
- Experience developing and interpreting policies for implementation in cybersecurity programs; AND
- Experience participating in making decisions and recommendations influencing IT/cybersecurity policies and programs.
In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed
below.
