Qualifications

We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below:
To qualify for the GS-14 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-13 level defined as providing leadership, oversight or technical expertise to staff and senior management on air pollution and climate change program or policy issues; preparing briefings and presentations for both internal and external organizations related to air pollution policy; and collaborating with others to evaluate air pollution scientific information.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:

Knowledge of air pollution regulations.
Ability to develop strategies to solve air pollution related policy issues.
Skill in oral communication.
Ability to analyze conflicting air pollution research data.
Skill in designing scientific studies used to evaluate environmental policy issues.
Ability to collaborate with fellow scientists and others in scientific research studies.
Knowledge of scientific methodologies related to air pollution research.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
