Duties
Perform construction of structures and reconstruction of existing buildings. Sets forms for foundations and foundation footings. Construct, install, repair, and replace items such as doors, shelves, supply racks, hardware, frame structures, windows, trim, and cabinets. Replace defective siding, steps, windowsills and thresholds. Replace glass panes and damaged portions of concrete or wooden walks and/or steps. Use hand tools such as hammers, bars, handsaws, screw drivers, and squares. Use power tools such as joiners, planers, table and radial arm saws, skill saws, jig saws, routers, hand-held belt sanders and drills. Prepare wood and metal surfaces for painting. Determine painting materials to be used and method of application. Maintain existing plumbing facilities in usable condition. Change washers, cleans traps, unplug sewage lines and tightens fixtures. Patches and repairs roofs. Uses hand tools related to roofing repairs such as brooms, scrapers, ladders, square shovels, trowels, knives and spreaders. Maybe asked to do lower grade duties such as janitorial.

To qualify for this position, you must have sufficient knowledge and ability in the following job-related factors:
ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF A MAINTENANCE WORKER, WG-4749-8 WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION. (SCREEN OUT)
KNOWLEDGE OF EQUIPMENT ASSEMBLY, INSTALLATION REPAIR, ETC.
TECHNICAL PRACTICES (THEORETICAL, PRECISE, AND ARTISTIC).
ABILITY TO USE AND MAINTAIN TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT.
ABILITY TO INTERPRET INSTRUCTIONS, SPECIFICATIONS, ETC.
USE OF MEASURING INSTRUMENTS.
