About the Position: The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Command (AMCOM) develops and delivers responsive aviation, missile and calibration materiel readiness to the U.S. Army. The position is located within AMCOM Logistics Center, Aviation Directorate - Unmanned Aircraft, however multiple vacancies maybe filled using this announcement.
Duties
Component expert, leading Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) management teams in developing Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) plans for major, highly complex systems of high monetary value, characterized by new and emerging technologies.
Use new or innovative military strategies unusual fielding requirements; special or unusual training, shipping, storage, protective, maintenance and support requirements; and/or comparable complexities.
Provide high level managers and military planners background information, planning rationales, and alternatives; serves as authoritative source of technical and logistics information.
Lead ILS management teams and chairing planning conferences addressing complex logistics concerning problems and issues for which there are little or no readily available solutions.
Develop new logistics support concepts and courses of action as required.
Review policies, define problems, develop recommendations for issues and resolve issues to be addressed in ILS plans and develops milestone.
Coordinate and/or participate in planning of all concerned functional elements; provide high level managers background information, planning rationales, and alternatives for making decisions as required.
Principal source of readiness and supply chain logistics support policies and procedural expertise.
Provide technical assistance, evaluate and analyze adequacy of documentation to support fielded systems, e.g., technical manuals, essential repair parts lists, supply circulars, and other related data.
Requirements
- Obtain and maintain Secret security clearance.
- This position requires the employee to travel away from the normal duty station- 20%.
- Incumbent is required to submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, (5CFR Part 2634, Subpart I Confidential Financial Disclosure Reports) upon entering the position and annually.
- This is an Acquisition Position and requires Advance Level III certification in Acquisition Career Field L - Life Cycle Logistics within 48 months of entry on duty.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes a broad range of logistics relationships, and significant expertise and depth in several specialized fields of logistics operations; and experience in one or more areas of logistics operations or management programs to include technical ability to resolve weapon systems interface, hardware and software problems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
