THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a SECURITY SPECIALIST (PROTECTION), Position Description Number T0008P01 and is part of the PA Deputy Chief of Staff G3, National Guard. 1 or more Position(s) may be hired against this Announcement.

Duties

As a SECURITY SPECIALIST (PROTECTION) GS-0080-09, you will serve as the Antiterrorism/Force Protection (ATFP) Planning Support Specialist on all aspects of ATFP. Serve as State security monitor; encompassing Physical Security (PHYSEC), Antiterrorism (AT), Operations Security (OPSEC), ISOPREP, Visitor Control and other Security and Crime Prevention programs to ensure command compliance with all applicable Security Regulations. Plan, conduct, direct the conduct of, or coordinates on security site studies, projects, assessments, and surveys of the facilities in relationship to and protection activities. Maintain a thorough knowledge of the Command protection mission and functional assignments to assure the effective integration of individual tasks, responsibilities and assignments into overall plans and procedures. Represent the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations (DCSOPS)/ Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations (DCSOPS) at meetings, conferences, workshops, panels, etc., at NGB and other deferral agency levels as a state technical authority. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

APPOINTMENT STATUS: EXCEPTED This is a Title 5 Excepted Service position in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. AREA OF CONSIDERATION: Non-Bargaining Position AOC A: NG Employees working at the location specified. AOC B: NG Employees of the Pennsylvania National Guard. Supervisor for this position is MAJ Christopher Berrettini. *NOTE: Accessioning into this position is contingent upon verification of Tier 3 Security Clearance. GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Education and valid understanding of the basic principles and concepts of the occupational series and grade for one of the seven organizational program disciplines and its applicable Security Series career level that demonstrates the ability to follow directions, to read, understand, and retain a variety of instructions, regulations, and procedures. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Application must indicate 24 months experience, education or training in force protection security specialist for anti-terrorism and related physical and operational security programs' policies. Administering the Special Security Program to include protection from espionage, terrorism, and threats of unauthorized disclosure and/or compromise of information or material considered vital to wing and command mission interests, national defense or national security. QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled.
