THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a SECURITY SPECIALIST, Position Description Number T5005000 and is part of the PA Military Support to Civil Authorities, National Guard.

Position will not lead to a permanent assignment and Not To Exceed 1 year.
Duties
As a SECUIRTY SPECIALIST, GS-0080-11, you will initiate and implement policies and procedures required to manage sensitive compartmented information (SCI) programs and to protect SCI resources. Establish policies and procedures for accomplishment of SCI protection and security. Work directly for the intelligence unit commander/Senior Intelligence Officer (SIO), reporting on the administration of the Special Security Office and SCI-associated security programs. Manage and direct the activities and personnel of the unit Special Security Office. Provide oversight of unit and SSO security self-inspections and presents detailed and comprehensive reports with corrective action taken to the unit intelligence commander/SIO. Perform other duties as assigned.

This is a Title 5 Excepted Service position in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.

TEMPORARY PROMOTION/REASSIGNMENT: Currently employed permanent technician selected will occupy this position as a Promotion not to exceed or Reassignment as appropriate in their present status.
INDEFINITE: Indefinite employment status pertains to applicant nominated, who are not a currently employed permanent technician. Indefinite appointments may acquire permanent status depending upon future force structure requirements; indefinite appointments do not serve a trial period. Indefinite appointments may be separated when their services are no longer needed or when funding is no longer available via a 30-day termination notice.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education, or training in analyzing problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions, the ability to plan and organize work, and to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Application must indicate 36 months experience that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. The primary purpose of the position is to serve as Chief, Special Security Office for the state. Administers the Special Security Office (SSO) and all SCI-associated security programs and measures. Provides detailed research and analysis on physical, computer, and personnel security. This position requires a comprehensive working knowledge of intelligence support operations, procedures, and practices.
QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basis of duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignments must be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training, and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to be filled.
