About the Position: Serves as first-line supervisor for Division personnel, senior inspector/investigator, and principal advisor. Responsible for conducting long-range planning and analysis; compliance and systemic issues; follow-up; and, miscellaneous staff actions, which support the current mission areas.
This is a permanent position located in Alexandria, VA.

Duties
Serves as first-line supervisor for Division personnel, senior inspector/investigator, and principal advisor.
Conducts long-range planning and analysis, compliance and systemic issues, and, miscellaneous staff actions.
Applies expert knowledge of compliance and systemic inspection techniques, methodology, and analytical abilities to determine the inspection concept to be used for inspection issues.
Conducts follow-up inspections when warranted to ensure corrective action has been taken on all approved recommendations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Failure to obtain and maintain a secret clearance for continued employment will serve as grounds for revocation of IG certification, credentials, and possibly termination from government service.
- Army Inspector General Certification after graduation of three week Army Inspector General Course.
- One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience, at the next lower grade (GS-13), which includes: Conducting analysis of incoming complaints and requirements to determine proper course of action for investigation, referral, or closure; developing recommendations for referral to Commanders and Directors to fix issues; participating as a team member, conducting investigations and assistance to include complex cases referred from DOD IG, DAIG and across the command; and participating in writing final investigative reports.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
