Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume. To qualify for the GS-13, candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level GS-12. Specialized experience for the position includes: Collaborating with other specialists and managers on risk management and information technology audits which frequently require analysis of interrelated issues of effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of information management programs; and Deciding how to proceed in planning, organizing, and conducting studies which may be affected by conflicting program goals and objectives which may derive from changes in legislative or regulatory guidelines, productivity, and/or variations in the demand for services; and Using judgment, initiative, and resourcefulness in deviating from established methods to modify, adapt, and/or refine broader guidelines to resolve specific complex and/or intricate issues and problems; and Communicating both orally and in writing to include briefings to leadership, formal and informal reports, program policies and procedures, and appropriate project management artifacts.
