This position is located in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). PTAB is comprised of statutory members and Administrative Patent Judges who conduct trials, including inter partes, post-grant, and covered business method patent reviews and derivation proceedings; hear appeals from adverse examiner decisions in patent applications and reexamination proceedings; and render decisions in interferences.

The physical worksite for this position is located in Alexandria, Virginia.This position is telework eligible per agency and business unit discretion/policy.

Applicants must have (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent.
Specialized experience for this position includes:
Experience overseeing the coordination of trial proceedings, including managing schedules, disseminating hearing notifications, and organizing hearing room logistics to enhance process efficiency.
Experience developing and executing strategic plans and objectives for hearing operations, ensuring streamlined and effective management of oral hearings.
Experience implementing improvements in the hearing process, including goal setting and procedural optimizations to ensure efficient and effective hearing outcomes.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
