About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the US ARMY INTELLIGENCE AND SECURITY CMD OFFICE OF THE CHIEF OF STAFF OFFICE OF PUBLIC AFFAIRS FORT BELVOIR, VA.

Duties

Serves as social media manager and creative project producer/advisor of visual information items in support of U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command (INSCOM) and its major subordinate commands (MSC). Demonstrates extensive range of subject matter expertise, artistic skill, and design ability in the execution and formatting of visual material. Applies the tools and methods of computer graphics technology to maximize the quality, efficiency, speed, and cost effectiveness of visual information creation, automation, and transfer to viable end products.26 Advises, coordinates, provides guidance to customers to interpret work requests Coordinates with customers submitting visual information photo/graphics work orders to ensure the most efficient - cost-effective methods of satisfying customer needs.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for access to sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) travel will be required up to 25% of the time.
  • All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized experience which includes utilizing digital imaging software for editing and creating photos, videos, and audio products for use in communicating information through visual means. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then, divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
