Duties

Receives and reviews patient grievance and potential healthcare risk management issues/actions. Major part of this position is working with our patients to improve their patient experience in helping them to navigate our healthcare system. Working with clinics and employees to assist in this effort. Records and transcribes meeting minutes. Prepares actions directed by the Risk Management Committee, to include reporting of negative case outcomes to the Credentials Committee. Research appropriate regulations to keep abreast of the latest changes in HRM guidance from higher headquarters. Ensures the security and confidentiality of all risk management actives. Assists the Medical Staff Manager with the tracking and management of Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations (OPPE) and Focused Professional Practice Evaluations (FPPE).

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes document and record meeting minutes, assisting with administrative policies, programs or operations related to health care delivery; utilizing automated systems to enter and retrieve data; and/or coordinating and navigating patient issues. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
