Duties

The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Chief, Honor, Culture, Climate, Character and Leadership programs, which includes instruction in stated programs at the USAFA Preparatory School (PS). Serves as an advocate and senior Honor, Culture, Climate, Character and Leadership advisor for the Commander, Deputy Director, and other PS senior leadership. Leads and directs all Honor, Culture, Climate, Character and Leadership initiatives, policies, and programs at USAFA/PS. Collaborate with key education, training, and leadership development functions such as Culture and Climate, Equal Opportunity, Charter and Leadership Development and Integrated Prevention to ensure PS programming, training, initiatives, and the like are consistent and compliment Air Force and USAFA desired mission outcomes. Teaches Honor, Culture, Climate, Character and Leadership courses in Training, Academic and Athletic Directorates, and participates in course and curriculum development specific to the cadet candidate development.

  • The salary shown is the minimum (Annual) amount to be paid and may be set higher commensurate with individual's qualifications and experience.
  • You will be required to serve a 1-year trial period

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: An earned master's degree in a closely related leadership or human resources discipline with five or more years of teaching experience at the secondary or post-secondary level is highly desired. One year of experience in academic or staff administration or curriculum development is also preferred. May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft to accomplish temporary duty. The employee must obtain and maintain a favorable background check as a condition of employment. Employee may occasionally be recalled to duty or required to work extended hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays. This is not a tenure-track position. This is not sabbatical eligible. ACADEMIC DISCIPLINES: An earned master's degree in a closely related leadership or human resources discipline with five or more years of teaching experience at the secondary or post-secondary level is highly desired. One year of experience in academic or staff administration or curriculum development is also preferred. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Provide in-depth instruction in Academics, Athletics, Character and Leadership development and military training to prepare 234 selected Cadet Candidates annually for entry into the United States Air Force Academy. Staff also inspires and motivates cadet candidates through rolemodeling, career counseling, guidance, and hands-on leadership training; and strives to instill character, dedication, excellence and discipline required of all professional military members. Candidates will have a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching. Leadership experience in curriculum development and academic assessment is desired. Applicants will be assessed based on education, evidence of teaching effectiveness, quality of scholarship, and demonstrated service to educational institutions and the discipline commensurate with years in the discipline.

EDUCATION:

Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Your transcripts must also reflect the degree awarded/conferred date. Transcripts labeled UNOFFICIAL will not be accepted.

FOREIGN EDUCATION:
Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the educational requirements. However, you must show proof that the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in a conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying in the form of an "official" statement of U.S. equivalency from a Department of Education approved (non-federal) agency (i.e. AICE, NACES), who will complete a U.S. Standard of Education Conversion.
