Duties

Major Duties of the Position: Position will perform the faculty duties in an academic department at the United States Air Force Academy. Will teach and mentor undergraduate students by providing appropriately tailored course materials, conducting engaging classroom activities, and assessing student academic performance and suitability for commissioning. Will lead professional activities across faculty; mentor department and faculty-wide planning and training for course and curriculum development; demonstrate administrative mastery in support of the department and faculty-wide missions; and direct teams and committees composed of interdisciplinary faculty. Will serve as senior disciplinary, interdisciplinary, and institutional mentor and leader across faculty. Will demonstrate continued proficiency in, and mastery of, duties and expectations defined for Associate Professor while building increased leadership skill, administrative acumen, and enhanced scholarly reputation in more junior faculty members. This is a tenure position.

  • The salary shown is the minimum (Annual) amount to be paid and may be set higher commensurate with individual's qualifications and experience.
  • You will be required to serve a 1-year trial period

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A terminal degree in Civil Engineering or related field. ACADEMIC DISCIPLINES: Civil Engineering or other relevant area DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Recent experience in providing instruction at a military academy. FOREIGN EDUCATION:
Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the educational requirements. However, you must show proof that the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in a conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying in the form of an "official" statement of U.S. equivalency from a Department of Education approved (non-federal) agency (i.e. AICE, NACES), who will complete a U.S. Standard of Education Conversion.
