About the position: This position will be assigned to the Arts & Crafts Center.
Regular Full-Time employees have a regular and continuous work schedule of at least 35 hours to a maximum of 40 hours per week. Duties
Assists the Director of the Auto Arts & Craft Center operations. As a working leader provides day-to-day advice and guidance to employees for work assignments; relays instructions from the supervisor for work assignments; gets the work started and sets the work pace; demonstrates work methods and provides work-related guidance; ensures that the worksite materials and tools are available; and ensures that employees follow security and safety rules. Reports all safety violations to immediate supervisor.
Oversees the daily activities of other employees engaged in the performance of their duties to include planning, distributing and balancing work; reporting to Supervisor on performance and reviewing completed work; motivating, coaching, training, counseling; and supporting the equal opportunity (EEO) program. Prepares cash drawers, cashiers, closes out register at the end of each shift, prepares daily cashier report utilizing RecTrac and AFSFMS and performs complex clerical duties and administrative tasks for the facility. Maintains logs, prepares time and attendance cards in SETS. Assists the Management Team of the Auto Arts & Craft Center in planning, developing and promoting Services.
Responsible for meeting with customers, taking orders and scheduling customer requests for engraving and framing. Shows initiative by seeking additional assignment. Actively seeks win-win solutions to differences between staff and customers and shows willingness to compromise.
Maintains adequate stock of supplies and resale merchandise. Responsible for performing resale inventory counts monthly or as requested by the Manager. Operates computerized engraving equipment to engrave on plastic, metal, wood, glass, ceramics and other media; others may include leather and animal bone. Uses computer software and hardware to create artwork in accordance with customer requests. Operates computerized framing equipment to design and cut mats for customers. Uses a miter saw to cut frames and v-nailer to assemble frames, cuts mats, foam and glass.
Knowledge required to maintain machines. May be subject to cuts and bruises associated with the use of tools and equipment used. Uses directives to ensure effective operations, interprets operation instructions, rules, regulations and established work policies. Assists management in requisitioning supplies, equipment and accomplishing repairs and maintenance.
Manages the handling of funds received and expended. Develops and finalizes purchase request, equipment requisitions, program and financial reports, submits to the Manager for guidance and programming ions, assists with yearly budget input. Develops sales promotions throughout the year and continuously surveys e local market to ensure competitive pricing. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifying Experience:
Ability to lead 3 or more Recreation Assistants required. Cash handling and able to figure basic math and measurements required. Must have experience with computers, computer design and layout required. A working knowledge of classes typically taught in an Arts & Crafts center, i.e. pottery, fabric crafts, drawing, ceramics, jewelry, painting, engraving, framing and/or glass crafts is preferred. Must be able to read, write, and speak English. Must have a clear speaking voice and be able to deal with the public.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
