About the position: This position will be assigned to the Moose Run Golf Course on JBER, AK 99505. This position is also Flexible, meaning you are guaranteed a minimum of 0 hours per week to a maximum of 40 hours per week. Your schedule will depend on needs of the facility.

Duties

Performs over-the-counter selling of a variety of merchandise which may include but is not limited to the following: jewelry, footwear, sunglasses, clothing, sporting goods, electronics, novelty gifts, and other miscellaneous items. Explains use of various products, answers questions concerning various aspects of products, and assists patrons in fitting apparel. Operates Point-of-Sale (POS) system, records sales, receives credit card and cash payment for merchandise, greens fees, equipment rentals, and various services, makes change, and wraps or bags merchandise. Performs an end of shift cash out, turns in all sales records, money, checks, and credit card slips to supervisor. Replenishes stock as required and assists with inventories. Performs general housekeeping duties in sales and storage areas. Occasionally cleans rental clubs. Provide golf instruction and clinics that is consistent with instructional methods, policies and procedures. Be informed on, and promote all club activities and services. Assist in planning and budgeting for the golf operations. Assist in managing tournaments and outings. Performs other related duties as assigned. Requirements

Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Qualifying Experience: Must have responsible experience in cash handling or retail sales store work of any kind which demonstrates the ability to perform satisfactorily at the grade level of the position. Experience must demonstrate knowledge of proper cash handling procedures, the ability to resolve common arithmetic problems used when receiving payment from customers, and the ability to operate a Point-of -Sale (POS) system. Must be able to read, speak, and write English. Must possess skill in dealing with the public. Must have experience in teaching golf and running golf tournaments. Must satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquires (NACI).

Education

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
