This position is located in the Headquarters (HQ), Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA), Corporate Communications Division. The incumbent serves as the Public Affairs Assistant (Corporate Communications), performing an assortment of administrative and technical duties in support of higher grade specialists within the Division.
Duties
Independently carries out a wide variety of pre-selected assignments that combine both the judgmental and methodological aspects of Public Affairs works.
Work assignments require familiarity with the practices of public affairs and audio/video functions in the Directorate.
Performing an assortment of administrative and technical duties in support of higher grade specialists within the Division.
Assists with the overall mission required to conduct DeCA's global public affairs and audio/video programs.

Qualifications
You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 1101 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date. Experience: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-6 level by the closing date of this announcement. Education may not be substituted for specialized experience.
Examples of Specialized experience:
Provides administrative and information management support relative to public affairs' operations.
Determines the proper order of the material and assembles the material using established files and/or other references to decide on the correct information such as citations, dates, and data.
Searches, identifies, and determines appropriate references and other material requested by the technical staff and disposes of files and records in accordance with established and/or interpreted guidelines.
You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social).
