As a Personnel Security Specialist you will serve as a Homeland Security Presidential Directive (HSPD-12) analyst by assisting and supporting with planning and operational support HSPD-12 related services for GSA Location of position: GSA Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) Program, Washington, DCWe are currently filling one vacancies but additional vacancies may be filled through this announcement in this or other GSA organizations within the same commuting area.

You will perform the following duties as a Personnel Security Specialist:

• US Citizenship or National (Residents of American Samoa and Swains Island)
• Meet all eligibility criteria within 30 days of the closing date
• Meet time-in-grade within 30 days of the closing date, if applicable
• Register with Selective Service if you are a male born after 12/31/1959

Qualifications

Specialized experience for personnel security is defined as experience in supporting, agency wide security management plans and policies which includes: organizing and conducting analyses involving HSPD-12 initiatives, coordinating procedures to support the creation, issuance, and management of Personal Identity Verification (PIV), supporting the use of the credentials for secure electronic access of employees and contractors to Federal buildings and information systems as called for by HSPD-12, and managing the background investigation process for federal employees and contractors. OR Education: Possess a master's or equivalent level degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or an LL.B. or JD. OR Combination of Education & Specialized Experience: A combination of graduate level education and appropriate experience that together meet the qualification requirements of this position.
