About the Position: This position is located in a U.S. Army Recruiting Command (USAREC) Battalion (BN). Its purpose is to supervise a Support Services Specialist in support of the BN's logistics functions.
Duties
Manage all contractual requirements with appropriate documentation.
Provide guidance on all aspects of logistics management.
Coordinate with internal departments to ensure logistics operations are in compliance with policy.
Interpret applicable regulations to direct management on program impact.
Compose procedures for logistics functions.
Organize logistical functions externally with other agencies.
Monitor procurement actions, through appropriate channels, to award contracts.
Confirm that property accountability is maintained.
Supervise a team consisting of those who perform large scale logistical support.
Lead the logistics team on scheduled on-site inspections to provide support.
Serve as the point of contact on all logistics matters related to support capabilities.
Evaluate all procurement card supply item purchases for approval.
Review agreements to assure the provided support is properly documented.
Prepare intelligences on the status of logistics functions.
Ensure that all required logistics reports within the agency are prepared to completion.
Submit reports in a timely manner to the contracting agency.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent may be expected to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Permanent positions are subject to a 1 year probationary period.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education or experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing logistical support in areas such as supply, procurement, and equipment AND; Reviewing requisitions submitted through automated logistics systems.. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Transport Logistics, Supply Chain Management or Logistics Management. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
