About the Position: Serve as a Strategic Planner leading, planning, and executing analytical war-games in a systematic and rigorous manner to examine operational and strategic level issues, questions, problem sets, and scenarios to inform decision-makers within the Army, the Department of Defense (DoD), and other national security organizations here within Center for Army Analysis, at Fort Belvoir, VA.
Duties
Generate ideas for new programs, policies, studies, and approaches in one or more subject areas that impacts the development of war-games programs and war-gaming analysis.
Leads cross-functional study teams and directs the performance of operational and strategic analysis to plan, execute, and lead wargaming studies.
Represent CAA at meetings, conferences, or other events as applicable.
Direct the performance of a broad range of wargaming methodologies to evaluate operational and strategic problem sets and scenarios to meet National Security Strategy (NSS) and National Military Strategy (NMS) goals.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) utilizing comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of operational art, strategic planning, wargaming, and analysis to plan and direct Joint and Combined studies to inform Senior Leader decisions; 2) conducting wargames and analytic studies in the areas of joint warfare, agency policy, and sustainment; and 3) leading and directing cross-functional study teams handling wargaming studies.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
