You will serve as a Quality Assurance Specialist in the Research & Development Group of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV CHINA LAKE. This announcement uses the Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.

Duties

You will gather essential data to evaluate work quality and ensure record accuracy.. You will represent the activity ensuring that the inspection, inventories, processing and handling of ordnance are conducted in accordance with procedures. You will review written quality or inspection procedures for adequacy, and evaluating the implementation and effectiveness of quality/inspection systems.. You will report adverse trends and deviations from normal manufacturing performance and/or product conformance and quality.

Requirements

  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of specialized experience: 1) Revising, reviewing, and submitting standard operating procedures for approval; 2) Ensuring that the inspection, inventories, processing and handling of ordnance are conducted in accordance with procedures; 3) Conducting necessary audits on magazines, ready service lockers, tenant commands and ordnance assembly buildings; 4) Analyzing data to detect unsatisfactory trends or weaknesses in the quality or verification program: and 5) Preparing technical reports documenting inspections, testing results, or deficiencies and recommending corrective action. Education

Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess.

GS-09

Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree with major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or another field related to the position.
OR
Successfully completed two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree with major study in quality assurance, statistics, mathematics, production management, industrial management, computer science, engineering, engineering technology, physical sciences, textiles, or another field related to the position.
OR
