About the Position: Serves as principal advisor and consultant to senior Installation Management Command staff and installations for a wide-range of acquisition management and oversight projects directed by higher headquarters, the Commanding General, the G8 Resource Management Director and the Chief of Acquisition.
Duties
Develops, recommends, and promotes policies and programs to accommodate changes in acquisition management and oversight activities
within IMCOM.
Reviews, analyzes new acquisition and contracting policies and procedures developed by higher headquarters, other commands, other
agencies, and industry for possible application to IMCOM activities
Provides advisory services on a consulting basis on acquisition management problems of major importance.
Maintains close liaison with HQ IMCOM staff subject matter specialists in activities associated with contracting and contract development
Represents the Acquisition Directorate and HQ IMCOM when required at coordination, management, and program review meetings.
Conducts or participates in conferences and/or projects relative to implications of proposed actions and studies on acquisition management
programs and procedures.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. If the security clearance is denied or revoked, the individual may be denied or
removed from the position, accordingly.
- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Foundational Certification or Contracting Professional within 36 months of entrance on duty.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Providing advisory services on procurement related issues; 2) Analyzing contracts and providing in-depth assessments and recommendations; AND 3) Assessing procurement functions by applying qualitative and quantitative methods. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
