You will serve as a Training Instructor (Lifting and Handling Equipment) in the Lifting and Handling Department of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR. This announcement is for an Upward Mobility Program position.

Duties

You will independently develops, revises, and adapts assigned courses. You will learn the latest in technological advances, analyzing the operations or subject matter, designing the course by determining course content, training aids, and instructional approach. You will conduct needs assessments and task analyses to determine learning objectives. You will develop lesson plans and training materials based on course objectives. You will obtain or develop training aids, and determines time schedules and sequences of instruction. You will conduct training and assesses progress of students in meeting desired objectives. You will utilize technologies (e.g., multimedia, computer based training and computer simulation) that will assist in the training strategy. You will maintain training records and develop training reports.

• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

The entry level for this position is GS-09 with a full performance level of GS-11. Knowledge of employees selected may vary and will require the development of individually tailored training plans to assist them in qualifying for the full performance level of this position. Eligibility requires that employees be performing satisfactorily, complete all training requirements, acquire the requisite qualifications and have met time-in-grade eligibility for career ladder promotions.
