You will serve as a Training Specialist in the Planning Division of TRIDENT REFIT FACILITY, BANGOR.
Duties
You will develop, revise, and corporate instructional materials for application to planning needs and requirements.
You will conduct needs assessments, task analyses and gap analyses to determine learning objectives.
You will perform research on advances in technology, the subject matter, delivery methods and training aids.
You will recommend new courses or experiential learning activities based on research and analysis.
You will prepare lesson plans and training materials based on course objectives.
You will determine instructional methods and approaches and tailors lesson plans consistent with the needs and make-up of the class.
You will obtain or develop necessary training aids, develops training schedules and determines sequencing of instruction.
You will conduct training and assesses progress of students in meeting desired objectives and administer training for corrective actions resulting from identified deficiencies.
You will develop, maintain, and implement long range and short range training plans with division manager input.
You will forecast, identify, and justify budget line items for the division's annual training plan and fiscal year operating budget to ensuring training needs and requirements are met.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift when in an industrial area or work site.
- Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Position requires occasional work onboard ships. Work requires the ability to climb ladders and or stairs.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- This position may require rotating shift work.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing research and analysis to develop and adapt local process instructions, standard operating procedures, curriculum and providing classroom facilitation in support of the planning needs and requirements of intermediate maintenance and repair of ships and submarines.
