Duties

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY As an IT Specialist, you will use your knowledge of and experience with The Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) to optimize business results and customer experience by: Support and installation activities of new systems (hardware and software) and telecommunications. Participates in the acquisition of necessary resources, including leadership support, financial resources, and key personnel, to support IT customer requirements. Skill on oral and written communication techniques sufficient to communicate complex technical requirements to non-technical personnel and to prepare and present briefings to senior management officials on complex/controversial issues. Participates in asset management related projects including implementation, utilization, support and installation activities of new systems (hardware and software) and telecommunications, training and associated refreshes for IT Assets. Responds to and resolves problems with such as, but not limited to, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) devices, Video Teleconferencing Capability (VTC), conference room devices, and telecommunication services.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Basic Qualifications: Must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: 1) Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. 2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. 3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. 4) Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. AND Specialized Experience: Must have at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 level in the Federal service performing at least three (3) of the following: Planning or coordinating IT customer support activities, such as support and installation of new equipment, systems (hardware and software), and/or telecommunications. Assisting with conducting or developing of IT customer support performance requirements, strategic plans, policies and procedures, technical guidance or other IT program activities. Implementing or modifying policies, plans, or procedures to meet business requirements. Contributing to the identification of problematic trends in IT customer support requirements. Interacting with senior or executive and internal and external stakeholders for matters pertaining to IT customer support or service.
