This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: This Interdisciplinary position is assigned to the PEO, C3T, PM Tactical Radios at Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.
Duties
Designs and executes soldier touch points and experiments for proof of concept and prototype systems in support of concept refinement and requirements development for next generation command post systems.
Leads System IPTs and attends meetings to coordinate integrated systems development, disseminate and discuss findings, provide advice, resolve mutual problems, exchange information concerning controversial, and coordinates integrated efforts.
Provide engineering support and inputs to testing, training, logistics, acquisition, configuration management and fielding program activities.
Prepare or provide inputs to development acquisition plans, test plans and procedures.
Represent the PM at conferences and meetings composed of key civilian, military and industrial personnel to participate, or make decisions in the development of broad courses of action on matters affecting the program engineering mission.

- This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position.
- Selectee must meet the DoDI 5000.66 requirements applicable to the Career Category of ENGINEERING AND TECHNICAL MANAGEMENT and Practitioner Career Level Certification must be met within 60 months of entrance on duty.
- This position requires submission of a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.
- Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.

Basic Requirement for Computer Scientist:
Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in computer science or bachelor's degree (or higher degree) with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as performing ALL of the following duties: 1) Provide system engineering and integration support for major Department of Defense systems in the areas of networking, line of sight and beyond line of site communications, Configuration Management, and/or information technology hardware and software 2) Test and evaluate products or technologies in a tactically-relevant environment with System of System interoperability implications 3) Implement system engineering processes during all product life cycle phases for Department of Defense procured subsystems, systems, or system of systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02 or GS-11)
Education
