You will serve as a Information Technology Specialist (Data Management/Systems Administration) in the Information Technology Department, Naval Aviation Logistic Command Management Information System (NALCOMIS) Division of COMMANDER ELEC ATTACK WING PAC FLEET.
Duties
You will serve as the focal point for the administration and operation of Linux and Windows Server 2003/2008 application servers and peripheral of NALCOMIS Optimized Immediate Maintenance Activity in support of naval aviation maintenance and supply.
You will manage systems resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability.
You will manage, plan and schedule the installation of new or modified hardware, operating systems application software, system fixes, updates and enhancements.
You will execute a variety of database utility functions, update user manuals, authenticate and install procedures, system administration functions and related IT security features.
You will assist customers in navigating and accessing databases using various interface methods.
You will correct security vulnerabilities in assigned systems in response to problems identified in vulnerability reports.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sectorProviding Information Technology customer support services by troubleshooting and analyzing a variety of problems related to Information Technology products and databases to ensure services are functioning effectively.
Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving.

IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: managing systems resources including performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability; analyzing and planning for anticipated changes in data capacity requirements.

IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: Assisting customers in navigating and accessing databases using various interface methods; provide information and assistance to customers on using installed systems.
Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: presenting training to end users on how to create an account and submit help tickets in a new Information Technology System; report and respond to customer requests.
Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: analyzing information technology (IT) systems malfunctions to implement corrective actions; monitor and troubleshoot systems availability; recover data in the event of hardware or software failure.

Education may be substituted in lieu of specialized experience as follows:
Successful completion of a master's or equivalent graduate degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management
or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.

Successful completion of two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management
or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
OR
Possession of an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to this position being filled.
