The primary purpose of this position, ELECTRONIC INTEGRATED SYSTEMS MECHANIC, WG-2610-13, is to install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, program, calibrate and rebuild multi-system complexes consisting of several complete integrated systems where the complex accomplishes a number of major functions.

Duties

Install, modify, overhaul, maintain, troubleshoot, repair, align, program, calibrate, rebuild and perform Preventative Maintenance on complete Integrated multi-system and other complex functions performed by numerous systems. Set up and operate software controlled automated test stations to run established and new diagnostic programs in various test modes to test and troubleshoot multi-system complexes. Use and maintain hand and power tools, precision measurement tools, and test equipment. Utilize safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean work environment. Maintain inspection and maintenance records.

• This position may require the incumbent to work under adverse environmental conditions.
• This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-2600 Electronic Equipment Installation and Maintenance Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time. The screen out element for this position is: Ability to Do the Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work assignments require moderate physical effort. Incumbent frequently lifts, and carries, or otherwise handles items weighting 25 pounds or over with assistance. Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, and stooping is required. Occasionally climbing and working in high places maybe required. WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is usually performed inside in well lighted, heated, and ventilated areas. When equipment is fixed in place it is sometimes necessary to work in warehouse or industrial areas exposed to loud noises, heat or old, fumes, etc. Incumbent is subject to injuries, such as electric shock, cuts, and bruises, as well as burns caused by electrical energy or soldering irons. The incumbent may be required to work in cramped positions or in close proximity to energized or operating machinery. The incumbent may be required to wear ARC Flash Rated clothing.
