Duties

The United States Space Force (USSF) Headquarters Space Force (HQSF) at the Pentagon is searching for an Executive Support Specialist (NH-0301-03). Description: Come serve at the top echelons of the Space Force Headquarters in the Pentagon working in a fast paced, high visibility position for the 3-Star Deputy Chief of Space Operations for Operations, Cyber, & Nuclear Deterrence (COO) as an Executive Assistant. As a member of a diverse team supporting the largest organization on the Space Staff, you will succeed in this position if you enjoy being a team player, take pride in providing expert support to senior military officers, and building relationships both within and outside the organization. On a typical day, your requirements would include: synchronizing the senior COO leadership calendars with the Secretary of the Air Force, Chief of Space Operations, and Vice Chief of Space Operations; developing travel tracking and calendar products; leading weekly calendar reviews; coordinating executive involvement in major senior leader conferences; coordinating travel across the front office team; and managing incoming phone calls and requests for information. The ideal candidate for this position will hold a Bachelor's degree and possess experience providing dedicated support to senior Department of Defense leaders. Prior knowledge of executive office administration and automation are desirable qualifications for this position and the candidate should have no trouble communicating with O-6/NH-IV-level managers, SES-level civilians, and senior general officers. He/she should also have the capability to effectively juggle multiple responsibilities, oversee numerous engagements at the executive level, and demonstrate adaptability in response to changing demands. Finally, the ideal candidate should demonstrate exceptional proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite of products, robust interpersonal abilities, and substantial experience managing the Defense Travel System. Key Skills and Abilities: 1. Knowledge of the organizational and functional responsibilities and operations of the employing organization. 2. Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, and spreadsheets. 3. Knowledge of protocol principles and associated regulations, policies, directives, procedural guides, precedents and instructions, and the military and civilian rank structure in order to coordinate and assure adherence to proper ceremony and etiquette. 4. Skill in managing multiple complex projects simultaneously. 5. Skill in interpreting functional policies, procedures, and techniques to develop viable programmatic options for satisfying the organization's changing priorities. 6. Skill in interpersonal relationships to work with senior military & civilian officials. 7. Ability to communicate orally and in writing. 8. Ability to plan and organize work. 9. Ability to access or locate information through the use of a person, computer, or terminal. 10. Ability to work cooperatively as a member of a team.
