About the Position: Serve as the principal law enforcement advisor. Provide advice and recommendations on concepts, policies and data systems required to support the law enforcement mission.
Moving expenses and/or recruitment/relocation incentives MAY be authorized for this position.
Duties
As the Law Enforcement Specialist, you will perform duties to include but not limited to the following:
Provide support for the law enforcement mission, to include crime reporting, DA standards, and IMCOM implementation and operations requirements.
Monitor law enforcement information management regarding police operations and communications interface.
Recommend modification or development of programs in support of law enforcement reporting missions.
Evaluate threat information to identify indicators of terrorist threat conditions.
Requirements
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance for the duration of employment.
- Temporary duty travel (5% or less) away from the normal duty station may be required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized experience required: At least one FULL year of specialized experience at or equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience experience assisting with the management of law enforcement missions; and, advising on the impact and changes of installation law enforcement program guidelines, policies and regulations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
Current employees applying under VEOA are subject to time-in-grade restrictions like any other GS employee.

Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone -NO substitution of education for experience is permitted.
